Wipro Names Sanjeev Jain as Chief Operating Officer
Wipro, a prominent player in IT services, has announced the appointment of Sanjeev Jain as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) with immediate effect. Jain steps into this role following the departure of Amit Choudhary, who has opted to explore opportunities beyond the organization. This transition was confirmed by Wipro in an official statement released.
In his new capacity, Jain will directly report to Srinivas Pallia, the CEO and Managing Director of Wipro. Pallia expressed confidence in Jain's capabilities, highlighting his instrumental role in advancing Wipro's initiatives in AI training and upskilling, which has impacted over 225,000 employees.
Jain's mandate as COO includes streamlining Wipro's operational model, enhancing client-centric delivery mechanisms, and fostering operational excellence with a keen emphasis on execution efficiency and agility.
Having joined Wipro in 2023 as the Global Head of Business Operations, Jain has since overseen critical facets of the company's operations, including talent supply chain management, the gig work platform 'TopGear', talent skilling initiatives, global mobility, talent acquisition, and business resilience strategies.
Expressing gratitude to his predecessor, Jain acknowledged Choudhary's leadership in fortifying Wipro's operational framework over the past two years, which serves as a solid foundation for future endeavors.
Jain brings with him a wealth of experience from his tenure at Kyndryl Holdings (IBM spin-off), IBM, Cognizant, and GE, where he held various leadership positions, shaping his strategic perspective and operational acumen.
With Jain assuming the COO role, Wipro anticipates a continued trajectory of growth and innovation, poised to meet the evolving needs of its clients and stakeholders in the dynamic landscape of IT services.
