Wipro and Nokia Partner for 5G Wireless Solutions
Wipro, an IT services firm, announced a partnership with Nokia, a Finnish telecom and IT company, to provide enterprises with private wireless solutions. This collaboration aims to empower enterprises to establish an integrated private environment under their control, enhancing performance management and minimizing security risks, according to a statement.
Wipro expressed that their collaborative private wireless solution with Nokia is designed to "facilitate the expansion of enterprises' digital transformation." This combined offering promises to deliver a heightened level of security through a 5G private wireless network seamlessly integrated into enterprises' operational infrastructure, the statement highlighted.
"The solution will bring greater reliability, mobility, connectivity speed, real-time access to business insights, and the ability to process high volumes of data with low latency", the statement said. Initially, this AI-powered solution will be accessible to customers operating in the manufacturing, energy, utilities, transportation, and sports entertainment sectors.
Nokia will furnish the Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) and Modular Private Wireless (MPW) solutions, while Wipro will provide strategic direction and industry expertise through its Def-i Innovation Center. "This partnership will unlock new capabilities to help businesses in various sectors experience enhanced connectivity and AI-driven operational efficiencies, ushering them to the forefront of innovation," Stephan Litjens, Vice President of Enterprise Campus Edge Solutions, Nokia, said.
According to Jo Debecker, Global Head of Wipro FullStride Cloud, the partnership will establish a pathway for enterprises to utilize private wireless networks for rapid digitization and gain immediate access to insights, enabling them to achieve their goals effectively.
