NEW DELHI: Walmart India on Wednesday announced appointment of Pankaj More as its Head Technology.
More would report to Walmart India President and CEO Krish Iyer and would play a key role in strengthening company's technology and IT infrastructure.
Commenting on the development Iyer said, "His depth of knowledge and global experience will bring a fresh perspective to our business.Pankaj is a strong addition to our Walmart India team."
He had joined WalMart in January 2013 and was leading the ISD strategy for the Walmart Asia market (China, Japan & India). More has over 19 years of experience. Pankaj has around two decades of experience across telecom, financial services, energy and retail. He also has experience in technology development, engineering and ERP platforms, driving IT strategy for business and operations.
Walmart had a joint venture with Bharti Enterpries. However, in October 2013, Wal-Mart Stores announced that it is buying out Bharti Enterprises in their equal equity wholesale retail joint venture Bharti Walmart, marking a split in their retail venture.
