VK Singh Skeptical to Join Politics

Bangalore: Politics is a power force which is felt by many aspirants. This power force has created a new connection between defence and public services. The former army chief General VK Singh has been speculated to join politics since he has retired from the defence system. He has been a consistent player in the political arena for a while now. However, it hasn’t been made clear as to whether India’s 26th army chief will become a part of the country’s public welfare, joining forces with politics.

VK Singh did launch into the public life which was expected. However, he has not yet announced his plans to enter electoral politics. What has been recorded in the past few months is that he has met the host of potential political allies from Om Prakash Chautala to RSS activists to Anna Hazare, as reported by Nistula Hebbar for ET Bureau.

Even when Singh met the opposition leaders in public he has been quite coy about his political plans. He said, “I really don't know whether I will fight elections. Whenever I meet any political leader, the speculation starts. I have heard that I'm supposed to have finalized Bhiwani in Haryana or in Rajasthan as possible prospects. Whenever I visit a state, seats are identified for me. If I meet Mamata Banerjee, I am sure that a seat in West Bengal will be identified for me by the media.” He further adds, “I believe that in public life no one should be an untouchable. If public good is your aim, you should meet everyone,” as reported by ET Bureau.
