Safety Glass
“You break it, but it doesn’t hurt”
Purpose:
‘When a bad guy breaks it and tries to hurt you, you smile and say thank you Edward.” Safety glass is used almost everywhere today, in cars, buildings etc. The basic idea behind it was to stop those glass pieces from pricking and hurting adding on to the damage it already did. Frenchman, Edward Benedictus, was one great person, a painter, composer, writer and a chemist. He once knocked a scientific flask down accidently; it broke but did not shatter. He had an idea now, but really didn’t know what it was.
Invention:
He realized what his idea was only when he saw some horrifying car accidents; he realized injuries in these accidents were more from those broken glass shields that pierced into people’s eyes and body. Eventually he developed a safety glass that would not have any sharp edges even if it was broken. It was named Triplex and it was set as a standard on car shields. Indeed it has saved many people from at least a painful death.
