US Visa Waiting Period Significantly Lower than Before

The crucial deficit of Indian residents, who seek to develop a career in the United States, are likely tackling the hurdles of extended waiting time for a Visa, thanks to the Indian government initiatives    

The significance of Indian professionals who are likely aiming to pursue their careers in the United States, especially in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is held high among US officials in recent times.


The Indian-US ambassador, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, addressed the issues of delayed US visas at the Chandigarh University Campus. In his speech, Mr. Sandhu remarked that most Indians who travel to the US on varied visa modes generally are contributors of science and technology to instigate breakthrough innovations in the industry. The issue has been slightly diminishing since S. Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister, took over the predicament and negotiated visits to the US.

In a recent survey by the US embassy in India, nearly one lakh appointments of the H and L workers have been approved, thereby reducing the wait time of Indians to procure US visas on a rapid scale. He added that the varieties located all over the country ought to develop domains like agriculture, mathematics, space, and information technology to cultivate and export Indian talents, facilitating their global acknowledgment. It elicits an impact on international students promoting overseas education in India.             

The US Department of State has already stimulated various scholarship exchange programs like Gandhi-King to assist US students' education and combined research initiatives in India. On account of the newly implemented education policy, Indian universities are reaching out to their international counterparts for varied strategies like setting up global universities’ offshore campuses into the existing Indian academies. Hence, Indian education is urged to consider campus-to-campus relations, twin programs, and increased research initiatives for an act of globalization. Ms. Sandhu also elucidated that the global image is on a surge post-Modi’s administration as global leaders express an accelerated interest in international issues for an effective resolution.
