The White House highlighted India’s crucial role in negotiating the G20 declaration in the Indonesian city of Bali while appreciating the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in communicating an indispensable message globally that the current era should not be a period of war.

PM Modi remarked on these words at a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the margins of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) summit held in September 2022. With the differences among the members in the rising disputes circled out at the G20’s Bali declaration, the significance of critically adhering to international law and protecting civilians caught in conflicts has gained momentum.
