US Participation in the CEO Forum Aims at Strengthening the Ties Between India and the US

The US Commerce Secretary’s visit to India to attend the US-India Commercial Dialogue and CEO Forum will underline the significance of India-US ties under President Biden’s administration.

Gina Raimondo, the US Commerce Secretary has scheduled to travel to India, highlighting the optimism in India-US relations. Mrs. Raimondo expressed her interest in visiting India, especially during special occasions like Holi celebrations, referring to an optimistic time for US-India relations. On account of her visit, she will meet with Indian public and private sector leaders and will participate in the US-India Commercial Dialogue and chief executive officer (CEO) Forum.

Her visit will likely underline the importance of the US-India relationship in President Biden’s administration, and its key role in deepening the commercial ties between the democratic nations. Mrs. Raimondo’s trip is critically a follow-up of success to the special negotiating round for the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework in New Delhi, attended by senior US Department of Commerce officials.

The US-India Commercial Dialogue and CEO Forum are anticipated to be held on March 10th, prioritizing the discussion in varied sectors to unlock new trade and investment opportunities between the two democratic nations.

Initially launched by Mrs. Raimondo and Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal in November 2022, the key identities in the region were identified as increasing the resilience in the supply chain, energy security, and reducing overall greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally,  advancement in inclusive digital trade, and facilitating critical economic recovery for businesses in the post-covid phase were also the key factors addressed in the CEO Forum.

Mrs. Raimondo stated that the CEO Forum, the Commercial Dialogue, and Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) are favoring seamless progressions in uniting the nations, creating innovative markets for trade, with a reinforced commitment to democracy.
