upGrad Bolsters Domestic Expansion with Key Senior Hires
upGrad, led by Ronnie Screwvala, made significant appointments, appointing Shailesh Mahale, formerly of Zepto, as Corporate HR Head, and Kumar Anshu, previously with OLX Group, as Head of Human Resource for Working Professional, Study Abroad, and Offline segment. In a strategic move, Vandana Kaushik Goel has been promoted to Head of Human Resources for upGrad's Enterprise arm.
According to Saurabh Deep Singla, upGrad's CHRO, these appointments are aimed at shaping the future of skilling and workforce development, going beyond traditional HR functions. Singla highlighted the appointees' expertise in technology and business, positioning upGrad as a leader in the skilling ecosystem and redefining talent development in the digital age.
Mahale brings a wealth of experience in HR technology and operations, having played a pivotal role in building Zepto during its initial phase. In his new role, Mahale will oversee Corporate HR functions, including operations, digitization, employee experience, payroll, compliance, and HR audits.
Anshu, with 15 years of diverse experience across various sectors, is adept at bridging business and people needs effectively. His background in Business HR, Consultancy, HR Strategy, and Software engineering from companies like Siemens, EY LLP, OLX, and Wipro makes him a valuable addition to upGrad's team.
Meanwhile, Vandana Kaushik Goel will maintain her leadership role in HR business partnering across upGrad's Enterprise arm. Mahale will be based at upGrad's headquarters in Mumbai, while Anshu and Goel will oversee operations from Delhi NCR. These appointments signal upGrad's commitment to driving innovation and excellence in talent development within the digital skilling landscape.
