Two Indian Americans Secure Role in Biden’s Export Council

President Biden’s administration recruits two more Indian members into the Export Council.                  

President Biden’s administration will now have more Indian Americans in the Export Council in upcoming periods. In a report to the White House press release, President Biden has added a list of members who will be appointed to the council, along with two Indian Americans, Mr.Punit Renjen and Mr.Rajesh Subramaniam. The President’s Export Council is an American government organization that serves as the principal national advisory committee on international trade.

One of the chosen candidates for the Export Council, Mr. Punit Renjen, serves as Deloitte Global CEO and has developed and executed global strategy during his tenure. He has impeccably led Deloitte in emerging as one of the leading professional services organizations in the world, with an identified recognition as the robust and most valuable commercial services brand.

With a distinct motto of business thrive reliant towards society thrive, Mr. Renjen’s leadership has established a global effort for Deloitte in preparing 100 million underprivileged people for a world of opportunities. He was recognized as the Global Indian of the Year by the Economic Times in 2022 and was identified as one among 34–Great Immigrants. Great Americans. Mr.Renjen was also awarded the Oregon History Makers Medalin 2020.

The other Indian American to add to Biden’s administration, Mr. Raj Subramaniam, serves as President, CEO, and a member of the Board of Directors of FedEx Corporation, facilitating strategic direction for all FedEx Operating companies. He held varied leadership roles in operations and marketing across the FedEx portfolio of operating businesses. Mr. Subramaniam is currently serving on the board of directors of FedEx Corporation, the Procter & Gamble Company, the US Chamber of Commerce's China Center Advisory Board, FIRST, the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, and the US-China Business Council. He is also an active member of the US-India CEO Forum, presented with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, the highest civilian Award presented to the Indian diaspora in recognition of achievements in both India and abroad. 

The council appointees also include Mr. Mark D Ein-Chairperson, Mrs. Rosalind Brewer as the Vice-Chairman, and other members- Mr. Cristiano R Amon, Mr. Raymond E Curry, Mrs. Lisa Disbrow, Mrs. Beth Ford, and Mrs. Jane Fraser.
