Twitter: An Indispensable Tool for Politicians



Bangalore: Twitter is considered to be the best marketing tool in today’s era. From President to Prime Minister, every politician now believes that Twitter is an indispensible part of their political career. The blue bird has been successful for some, and has become burdensome for a couple of them. But has the blue bird really been so crucial in putting across their messages?

In the past seven years, the micro-blogging service has proved to be a preeminent instrument for lawmakers and leaders, reports The Times of India.

U.S. President Barack Obama bypassed other traditional mediums and chose Twitter to announce his "four more years" as President which became the most re-tweeted post ever. The politician has a record of 36.5 million followers on this popular social media site.

Even Indian Politician Narendra Modi has taken a step forward towards engaging with his followers through the means of social media. Modi manages to maintain his twitter accounts in several regional languages including Urdu. The leader of controversies has over 1,600,000 followers on Twitter.
