TRAI Unveils Upgraded Website with New Features for Public Access
TRAI has unveiled an upgraded website to broaden its reach to connect with a wider audience. In recognition of the growing importance of social media, new sharing features facilitate the dissemination of regulatory information to all stakeholders. The website offers comprehensive information on telecom and broadcasting regulations, policies, laws, statistics and trends in India. These resources are easily accessible to the public, stakeholders, researchers, and international audiences.
The new website introduces a host of enhanced features aimed at improving user experience and accessibility. A new dashboard specifically for the Telecom & Broadcasting sector has been added, along with the provision for data downloads to support research. Users can now explore data in a more engaging and interactive manner through the Grid View feature. In addition to email sharing, documents can now be directly shared across major social media platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Facebook, and X, offering greater flexibility. The website also introduces an online registration option for subscribing to TRAI's latest releases and updates. A brief profile of the Authority is available for better user understanding. The new site is fully compatible with iOS, Android, and various other platforms. Additionally, a blog section has been incorporated, allowing registered users to comment, and there is now a provision to publish information about upcoming events. For greater community engagement, users can register online to participate in Open House Discussions.
The website complies with accessibility standards, ensuring a more inclusive experience. Users will also find a dedicated section for tenders and notices. Furthermore, all regulations are compiled in a single location, with amendments clearly mentioned in footnotes. The new website will be hosted on the NIC Cloud, and the old website will remain active for three months following the go-live of the new site to ensure a smooth transition. To assist users in navigating and finding relevant information, the website features a chatbot, 'TARA' (Telecom Authority Responsive Advisor), which facilitates interactive search capabilities.
These new features aim to enhance transparency, accessibility, and public engagement of TRAI's regulatory initiatives in Telecom and Broadcasting sector.
