The Beginning of the End of COVID-19. PM Modi to Launch Corona Vaccine Drive Today at 10.30 AM

As the Centre said ‘today’s much-anticipated drive against coronavirus is probably the beginning of the end of COVID-19’. India is all set to roll out two COVID-19 vaccines today – Covishield and Covaxin. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually launch the drive today PAN India.

The drive is expected to cover 300,000 frontline healthcare worriers across 3,600 sites. These include both government and private sectors healthcare workers. Around 100 people will be vaccinated at each session site.

PM Modi will also interact via video conferencing with some of the beneficiaries who will receive the shots today.

13 cities across India have already received over 56 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine.

Meanwhile, India registered 13,560 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This takes the total tally to 10,542,068, with the death toll at 151,918. 

Globally, the COVID-19 cases are 93.8 million, with a death toll of 2.01 million while nearly 51.7 million patients have recovered till date.
