Team India has a hectic cricket schedule for next 12 months

BCCI has confirmed a hectic schedule for Team India as they will play at least 7 bilateral series, the Indian Premier League and two ICC events that include Asia Cup and T20 World Cup 2021. While this year, the team rested for a few months due the COVID-19 pandemic, it surely will be a hectic year ahead starting as soon as January when they will host England for the first bilateral series of the year.

Some of the series to be held next year also includes the ones either cancelled or postponed earlier this year due to the pandemic. The BCCI is very clear and has recently clarified that it will honor all the cancelled series within next 12 months. This may come at a cost of team India players workload and exhaustion but managing the players is all it must be focused on at this point of time. With enough talent on the bench, some key players might be rested for less competitive matches which seems a viable option. Here is the India cricket schedule during next 12-month period:

England Tour Of India 2021 (January- March):
The first bilateral series of Team India is against England after the Australia series when India will host the England Cricket team for 4 Tests, 4 ODIs, and 4 T20I during January till March. This is the first of the two series between both countries. India is scheduled to tour England later in July till September.

Indian Premier League 2021 (March-May):
Followed by the England series, BCCI is hopeful to schedule the Indian Premier League between March and May 2021 in India. All franchises are determined to play at home venues as well. A mega auction is also due to be scheduled early next year before the IPL tournament which will see a lot of shuffling of players.

India Tour of Sri Lanka 2021 (June):
Team India will visit Sri Lanka for the limited-over series ahead of Asia Cup 2021. Sri Lanka and India will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20I in the run of the month in June.

Asia Cup 2021 (June-July):
After playing a bilateral series against Sri Lanka, India will stay in the country where Sri Lanka will host the ICC Asia Cup 2021 in June and July period. This will be a long series as all the Asian countries will take part. India will feel comfortable as they will play against Sri Lanka in the same month.

India Tour of Zimbabwe 2021 (July):
Team India next series is against Zimbabwe where Zimbabwe will host India for a 3-match ODI series in July. BCCI will surely rest the senior players and will give more opportunities to the young player to jell in with the conditions of the African nation.

India will fly to England 2021 (July-September):
England will host team India in July for the exhausting five-match test series. The five-match Test series will take 2 months to conclude and will be tiring and important at the same time, as it will be counted in World Test Championship.

South Africa will visit India in 2021 (October):
After the 5-match Test series against England, Team India will switch gear to ODI and T20 cricket where it will host South Africa to play 3 ODIs and 5 T20I. The series with South Africa will be crucial for both teams as it will be the final series before the World Cup T20I. Teams will leave no stone unturned to win the series.

T20 World Cup 2021 (October-November):
India will be hosting the 2021 T20 World Cup in October and November. The tournament is a 2-month long series where all cricket countries will be visiting India to play T20 matches.

New Zealand tour of India 2021 (November-December):
After hosting South Africa for the bilateral series and other cricket teams for the T20 World Cup, India will host New Zealand in November and December for 2 Tests and 3 ODI matches.

India tour of South Africa 2021 (December):
After the hectic and tiring 11 months, India will fly to South Africa in December 2021. Both the sides will play three-match test series and three-match T20I series to end the year.
