Tata Power Renewable Energy Commissions 200 MW Solar Project in Bikaner
Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has successfully commissioned a significant 200 MW solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, marking another milestone in India's renewable energy sector. This initiative is poised to contribute substantially to the country's sustainable energy goals. The project, spearheaded by TPREL's subsidiary, TP Saurya Ltd (TPSL), and commissioned for Tata Power Trading Company Ltd (TPTCL), is strategically located in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
Expected to generate approximately 485 million units of green energy annually, this solar project is anticipated to offset over 3,88,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. Moreover, its integration into the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) Bus promises efficient distribution of clean energy across the region, bolstering the overall renewable energy infrastructure.
With this commissioning, TPREL's total renewables capacity has soared to an impressive 9,018 MW, including a power purchase agreement (PPA) capacity of 7,632 MW. This figure comprises ongoing projects totaling 4,547 MW and operational capacity of 4,471 MW, encompassing both solar and wind energy sources.
As a subsidiary of Tata Power, TPREL stands as a key player in developing diverse renewable energy projects ranging from solar and wind to hybrid systems, floating solar, storage solutions, and more. This accomplishment underscores Tata Power's commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions and contributing to India's renewable energy transition.
