Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has installed over 850 electric vehicle charging points in major metropolitan areas, supporting the operation of more than 2,300 public electric buses. These installations are a crucial component of Tata Power's strategy to expedite the country's shift towards electric mobility.
Strategically located across more than 30 bus depots in cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Jammu, Srinagar, Dharwad, Lucknow, and Goa, these charging stations play a crucial role in decreasing the carbon footprint of public transportation. The company's initiative has resulted in a reduction of over 100,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
The charging infrastructure includes high-capacity fast chargers with outputs between 180 and 240 kW, capable of recharging buses in 1 to 1.5 hours. This feature is essential for meeting the rigorous operational demands of public transportation systems.
Delhi leads in utilizing these facilities, with significant follow-up engagement from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Jammu, and Srinagar. Tata Power is dedicated to promoting e-mobility by collaborating with various OEM operators and supporting state government transport corporations.
Besides infrastructure development, Tata Power guarantees comprehensive service delivery, encompassing design solutions, timely execution, and ongoing maintenance. The company also offers essential services such as effluent treatment plants and obtaining statutory NOC approvals to ensure smooth business operations for its clients.
