Tata Power authorises the re-appointment of Praveer Sinha as CEO and MD

Tata Power accepted re-appointment of Praveer Sinha as CEO and MD, the company confirmed in a press release.  He has been appointed for a period of four years, starting May 1, 2023. Currently, Sinha is the Chairman of CII Western Region council and co-chairs the CII National Committee on Power.

"We wish to inform that, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board, at its meeting held today i.e. March 30, 2023, approved the re-appointment of Dr. Praveer Sinha (DIN: 01785164) as the CEO & Managing Director of the Company for a period of four years from May 1, 2023 to April 30, 2027, subject to the approval of the Members of the Company," the release said.

Sinha has held several leadership positions across the power sector value chain. "As CEO & MD of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, he was instrumental in driving the turnaround of the Discom through technological and social interventions and setting a benchmark operational model for other discoms and developing countries to follow," as per the company statement. He has also contributed to setting up the first international incubator in India to promote innovations in the clean energy space.
