Strengthening India-US Diplomatic Partnership and Fostering Technological Convergence

Indian PM Modi’s first official state visit to the US in 2023 aims at fostering a robust India-US diplomatic partnership and technological convergence.

Indian Prime Minister Modi will visit the US from 21st-24th June 2023 to discuss the status and factors that boost the India-US diplomatic partnership. During his visit, he will be meeting with the CEOs of the top 20 American businesses.

The primary goal of PM Modi’s visit is to attend the summit—We The People: Celebrating the US-India Partnership—that will be conducted by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) on 23rd June. Following his address, a reception will take place at the Hall of Nations Terrace (Kennedy Center), where he will meet with eminent industry leaders from varied sectors like IT, telecom, FMCG, logistics, and industrials. Top leaders of Biden's administration will also take part in the event. Almost 1,500 invites have been sent out for the top CEOs, business leaders, and American officials to attend the event at the Kennedy Center.

Mukesh Aghi, CEO and president of USISPF, remarked that a more concrete and deep relationship has developed between both nations. India is all set to take an independent position at the international forum, facilitating extended support to the US position.

Much ahead of PM Modi’s visit, leaders in the American corporate sector are looking forward to deepening the technological convergence between India and the US in potential sectors like semiconductors, defense, cybersecurity, and telecoms.

The US-India Business Council (USIBC) hosted its annual India Ideas Summit, the largest gathering of Indian and American CEOs recently. The president of USIBC, Atul Keshap, expressed interest and delight regarding the PM's State visit that aims for a technological convergence deepening on things like semiconductors, defense, cybersecurity, telecoms, 5G, and 6G.
