Every sports person has an age after which the body starts giving up because of the wear and tear that it has been put through and one of the most strenuous sports is athletics. The person has to push their bodies to the limit to achieve success. In such a case winning a 1500 meter and 800 meter race at the age of 34 is by no means a small feat.
Kelly Holmes, a British participated in 2004 Athens Olympics in spite of coming out of a forgettable previous season. After the 2004 Olympics she admitted to have suffered from clinical depression, but her determination to perform is what drove her to amaze people with her double gold tally at the 2004 Summer Olympics. In the past she has set and still holds many British Records in 600, 800, 1000 and 1500 meters.
Before becoming a professional athlete she enrolled in the British Army. Now we know from where Holmes got her never give up attitude.
