Sony Pictures Networks India Elevates Ritesh Khosla to General Counsel
Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced the elevation of Ritesh Khosla to the position of General Counsel, effective September 1. Khosla will succeed Ashok Nambissan, who will retire on August 31 after a distinguished tenure.
Khosla has served as Executive Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Head of Standards & Practices at SPNI. His legal career began in a law firm before he joined SPNI, where he steadily advanced over the years. For the past six years, he has been instrumental as Deputy General Counsel.
With over two decades of experience, Khosla brings extensive expertise in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures (JVs), regulatory frameworks, compliance, corporate governance, complex litigation, and intellectual property rights (IPR) protection and enforcement. His comprehensive understanding of these areas has been pivotal in shaping SPNI’s legal strategies.
In his new role, Khosla will oversee SPNI's corporate relations, legal and regulatory affairs, secretarial functions, and standards & practices. He will provide risk and legal guidance, manage the company's legal risks, and serve as the company's ombudsperson. He will report directly to the Managing Director & CEO of Sony Pictures Networks India.
Beyond his core responsibilities, Khosla aims to enhance SPNI’s compliance framework, particularly in digital and intellectual property rights. He is also set to bolster the company’s legal infrastructure in international markets and oversee SPNI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, ensuring they align with legal and ethical standards.
