Shopo, An Independent Mobile App From The Snapdeal For SMBs
BENGALURU: With a goal of having a superior hold on retail market, an E-commerce tycoon Snapdeal has unveiled its new app ‘Shopo’ with which a seller can interact with the customer and sell his product. This particular app is made for Small and Medium Business (SMBs). Paytm had launched a similar app six months ago which allows sellers to chat with buyers, reports Financial Express.
Shopo is a zero commission platform for seller to meet buyers. Sellers just have to register with mobile numbers with no other hassles involved and list their products thereafter. Like Facebook, Snapdeal also wants to create a family of apps as it already owns Freecharge, Snapdeal app, and RupeePower. And it has been noticed that 70 percent of Snapdeal’s transactions are from mobile apps.
Kunal Bahl, co-founder and CEO of Snapdeal said “Our goal is to build India’s most powerful digital eco-system and a zero commission mobile marketplace”
Unlike Paytm, Shopo has got no online payment option wherein buyers just have to bid on available products with listed prices. Once the price is determined, seller sends co-ordinates to buyers and buyers receive the product physically, but in Paytm, digital transaction is possible and products are delivered at buyer’s doorstep. Shopo also allows buyers to share their products in social networking sites like Facebook and WhatsApp.
Sandeep Komaravelly, a senior VP at Shopo said, “Logistics is co-ordinate between the buyer and the seller.”
The app was launched a month ago and currently has got 30,000 products listed from 4,500 sellers. Bahl said that Shopo intends to have at least a million sellers in next one year.
