Who was He

Saddam Hussein ruled Iraq with a brutal hand and used fear, terror to stay in power as President of Iraq, serving in this capacity from 16 July 1979 until 9 April 2003 when US troops attacked Iraq and Saddam fled Baghdad.

His Hideout

Located in a small town named Al-Dawr, this spider hole hideout of Saddam Hussein was a hole with a depth of 6 to 8 ft. (2 to 2.5 m) that was wide enough for him to lie down in. Two AK-47s, a pistol and $750,000 worth in $100 bills were found in the hide out which was barely six-foot long chamber in which a man could lie down or crouch.

How was he killed:

Saddam was captured after a prolonged investigation in which intelligence officers questioned bodyguards and lower rungs of the family members close to the overthrown leader. Saddam Husain was pulled from the shallow spider hole hideout. He was accused for multiple heinous crimes committed over the period of time and was tried in Baghdad for crimes against humanity during his 23-year rule. Found guilty in November 2006 Saddam was hanged till death the following month.
