Schneider Electric to Invest Rs 3,200 Crore in India Manufacturing Hub
Schneider Electric, a leading company in energy management and automation, has announced its commitment to invest Rs 3,200 crore by 2026 to establish India as its manufacturing hub for both domestic and international markets. As part of this initiative, Schneider Electric has inaugurated a state-of-the-art facility in Bengaluru with an initial investment of Rs 100 crore to manufacture cooling solutions tailored for data centers.
During the inauguration of the plant, Deepak Sharma, President of Schneider Electric India's Greater India Zone and Managing Director & CEO, revealed that the company plans to invest Rs 3,200 crore to establish India as a manufacturing hub for the group. This initiative will involve setting up manufacturing facilities for a range of products and solutions across different regions of India.
Additionally, he mentioned that Schneider Electric is in the process of establishing factories in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, and Odisha. Currently, the company operates 30 factories throughout India, which includes the recently inaugurated cooling solutions factory. Sharma indicated that Schneider Electric is actively involved in the establishment of various facilities across the country.
The newly established cooling solutions factory will prioritize the creation of innovative cooling solutions to address the rapidly expanding demand within India's data center ecosystem. Spanning an area of approximately 6.5 acres, the factory has been constructed with an investment of Rs 100 crore (equivalent to approximately EUR 10 million).
Up to 85 percent of the products produced at this factory will be earmarked for export, primarily serving the data center sector, as well as the building, industrial, and infrastructure segments. Operated entirely by Schneider Electric, this facility will serve as a vital component in the company's global supply chain. Notably, this is the second factory of its kind for chiller solutions established by the company worldwide, following the inauguration of the first facility in Italy.
The opening of Schneider Electric's newest factory underscores its steadfast dedication to delivering cutting-edge solutions and products that prioritize efficiency and sustainability. This state-of-the-art facility boasts advanced technology and specializes in producing cooling solutions tailored for data centers, telecommunications, commercial, and industrial sectors, catering to both local and global markets.
