BANGALORE: With the NBA draft 2015 going on, here comes the proud moment for all Indian basket ball fans. Satnam Singh has become the first Indian Born player to be drafted in NBA. The 7’2 star from Barnala, Punjab got picked in the NBA draft and will represent Dallas Mavericks. He was the overall 52nd pick and the 22nd in the round two, reports IBT.

Singh has played for the Indian national Basket ball team and IMG Academy graduate team for 2014-2015. As a part of a scholarship programme the teenager moved to United States In 2010. And there had been talks in the town about the Punjab lad being a part of NBA this year and his dream has finally come true. The competitor teams like Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings were also interested in bagging this Indian talent but failed to do so.

Satnam, who has been working hard for getting to play in NBA, is considered to be raw and has the potential to become a star player, with his appearance providing him the advantage. His techniques and abilities to shoot have earned him this place. He is getting ready to Play in the next NBA season until then he will be getting sufficient training and experience by playing in NBA D-league matches.
