Sataparna Mukherjee- The Bengal Girl Selected for NASA Scholarship



BENGALURU: Sataparna Mukherjee, 18, studying in 12th standard in a village 30 km from Kolkata has added glory to India as she has been chosen by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for its esteemed Goddard Internship Program under the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS). She is among the five researchers looked over the world for this project, reports The Times of India. NASA's GIP chooses five remarkable people from over the world consistently and assets their whole education post school.

Sataparna, who will show up for her school-leaving exams this year from St Judes School, Madhyamgram, in Kamduni, which picked up infamy for a fierce gangrape in 2013 - will be at Oxford University, where she will do graduation, post-graduation and PhD (as NASA staff) in aviation design at its London Astrobiology Center.
