Samsung Announces Decade-Long Innovation Strategy for India
  • Samsung to boost India-led product development under a new long-term vision
  • Company reinforces commitment to Make in India manufacturing and R&D expansion
  • New initiative aims to strengthen India’s role in Samsung’s global innovation strategy

Samsung has announced a major 10-year strategy to expand India-led product development and deepen its commitment to domestic manufacturing. The South Korean electronics giant launched a new program, #PoweringInnovationforIndia, marking a stronger push toward building advanced technologies in India for both local and global markets.

The company said the initiative will focus on people-centric innovation, skilled talent development, and a broader range of products designed specifically for Indian consumers. Samsung, which has been operating in India for 30 years, said the new vision aligns with the country’s digital transformation goals and its Make in India mission.

Samsung currently runs two manufacturing plants in Noida and Chennai, along with three R&D centers in Delhi, Noida, and Bengaluru. The company generated Rs 1.11 trillion in revenue from India, one of its largest global markets.

JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, said the company plans to play a bigger role in India’s digital growth. “We will continue working with the Government of India toward a Viksit Bharat. Our aim is to build technologies here that will shape how the world lives, works, and connects tomorrow”, he said.

Samsung has also expanded its retail and experience footprint. After opening the Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru, the company recently launched its first flagship lifestyle store, Samsung BKC, in Mumbai, along with a new Business Experience Studio. A similar studio was opened earlier in Gurugram.

Samsung’s renewed focus on India comes as global electronics makers seek to strengthen local manufacturing, leverage engineering talent, and grow their presence in the world’s fastest-growing smartphone market.
