Sajith Sivanandan Joins Jio Mobile Digital Services as President
Former Disney+ Hotstar head Sajith Sivanandan has joined Jio Platforms as the President of Jio Mobile Digital Services. In this new role, Sivanandan will lead the development of AI-driven digital services for Jio Mobile, focusing on enhancing user experience and scaling innovative digital solutions.
Sivanandan was the head of Disney+ Hotstar from October 2022 to December 2024. He led the strategy, growth, and product development of the platform, maintaining its position as a leading player in India's streaming market. He resigned in October 2024 after the merger of Star India and Reliance Industries' Viacom18.
Before joining Disney, Sivanandan had worked at key positions at Google, Star TV, The Gallup Organization, and Affle UK, bringing him vast experience in digital media, business strategy, and analytics. He spent 15 years with Google, which included a wide range of positions, from research scientist to working on initiatives that included Google Pay and Next Billion User initiatives as the Managing Director and Business Head from October 2018 till September 2022. Appointed at Jio Platforms due to his excellence in scaling digital services and heading tech-driven growth.
