Religare Enterprises gets two new Independent Directors

Religare Enterprises Ltd (REL) has appointed Hamid Ahmed, CEO of Hamdard Laboratories India (Foods Division) and and Vijay Shankar Madan, former Director General of UIDAI (Aadhaar), as its Independent Directors

In a statement, Religare Enterprises said that with the induction of two eminent and experienced professionals as independent board members, the Religare Enterprises Board now has five Independent Directors among its seven members.

Religare Enterprise Ltd Chairperson Rashmi Saluja said: "The turnaround story of Religare 2.0 is a testament of the strong levels of integrity and corporate governance that has been the hallmark of the Board. Religare 2.0 is now well poised for a bright future of growth and profitability."

Religare Enterprises is a diversified financial services group present across three verticals -- Religare Finvest, Religare Broking and Care Insurance.

Shares of Religare Enterprises on Thursday ended at Rs 65.50 on the BSE, lower by 1.65 per cent from its previous close.
