Ravindra Kumar assumes the role of Director-Operations at NTPC Ltd

Ravindra Kumar has assumed the role of Director-Operations at NTPC Ltd, the nation's largest power-producing entity, effective immediately. Prior to this, he served as OSD (Officer on Special Duty) to the Director-Operations at NTPC Limited.
Having earned a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from BIT Sindri in 1988, Ravindra Kumar boasts over 34 years of diverse experience in Commissioning, O&M, Engineering, and Project Management. His journey with NTPC began in 1989 as a Graduate Engineer Trainee officer.
Kumar has held various roles in O&M functions at the NTPC Kahalgaon Project and has worked at the Corporate Centre in the Engineering department, providing technical support to the Director (Technical). Notably, he played a crucial role in the development of the first Maitree supercritical power project for the Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL) in Bangladesh.
During his tenure as Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Kumar led the Engineering, erection, commissioning, and O&M activities of the 660 MW 1st Unit of BIFPCL. As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited, he expedited various construction and erection activities.
With a people-centric approach, corporate and site experience, and a comprehensive understanding of the power sector, Ravindra Kumar is well-positioned to drive operational excellence at NTPC Ltd.
