Raj Subramaniam will replace Frederick W Smith, chairman, and CEO, who will step down from this position on June 1

FedEx Corp has selected Raj Subramaniam as its new chief executive officer, succeeding the man who invented express delivery almost 50 years ago. The worldwide courier service giant in the United States announced this respect. Raj Subramaniam would succeed Frederick W Smith, who would step down as chairman and CEO on June 1. The promotion of Subramaniam had been long anticipated. Smith's son, Richard W Smith, was designated the new head of the company's express division less than a month ago. For at least two years, the 77-year-old founder has stated that his long reign is ending.

Smith remarked that as they look toward what is next, he has a tremendous sense of satisfaction knowing that a leader of the level, Raj Subramaniam, would guide FedEx into a very successful future. Smith said he is looking forward to focusing on Board governance and global problems such as sustainability, innovation, and public policy in his new post. FedEx was started by Smith in 1971.

In a statement released by the FedEx post announcement, Raj Subramaniam opinioned that Fred is a visionary leader and a legend of the business world. Raj feels honored and finds it a privilege to take up this job and continue to expand one of the world’s most renowned companies. FedEx is headquartered in Tennessee and employs 600,000 people worldwide.

Subramaniam was elected to the FedEx Board of Directors in 2020 and will serve on the board indefinitely, according to the corporation. Subramaniam was president and CEO of FedEx Express, the world's largest express delivery company, before becoming president and CEO of FedEx Corp. At FedEx Corp., he served as executive vice president and chief marketing and communications officer, where he developed the company's strategy. A former president of FedEx Express in Canada, he joined FedEx in 1991. Additionally, he has worked in various management and marketing roles in Asia and the United States.
