Prez Murmu, PM Modi Lead Floral Tributes to Ambedkar in Parliament on His Birth Anniversary

On April 14, top leaders of the country convened at Prerna Sthal on the Parliament complex to offer their sincere tributes to Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. Dr. Ambedkar, who was born on this day in 1891 in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, is still a giant figure in Indian history. He was an eminent jurist, economist, social reformer, and political leader who had a crucial role in the nation-building process.
Since the Indian Constitution's prime architect, Dr. Ambedkar was the chairman of the drafting committee and the first Law and Justice Minister in the Jawaharlal Nehru's cabinet. His efforts toward the nation remain to be revered, particularly on his birthday anniversary, which is being celebrated throughout the country on a large scale as a mark of respect to his legacy of education, social justice, and equality.
The guests who attended the ceremony included President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. The leaders offered floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar, the Father of the Indian Constitution, and received blessings from the Buddhist monks who also attended the ceremony.
Earlier today, President Murmu went on to X to send her greetings, saying, "On the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the maker of our Constitution, I send my warmest greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens". She recognized Dr. Ambedkar's inspiring life, noting his capacity to overcome extreme adversity and gain international respect through his outstanding achievements.
Prime Minister Modi too honored Dr. Ambedkar, highlighting how his vision remains to shape the course of progress for India even now. "On behalf of all the countrymen, I pay my homage to Bharat Ratna Pujya Babasaheb on his birth anniversary", tweeted the Prime Minister on X. "It is because of his inspiration that the country is commitment-fully focused on fulfilling the vision of social justice today".
Different programs, cultural functions, and rallies are being held throughout the nation to commemorate Dr. Ambedkar's vision for a more inclusive and equitable society through the Indian Constitution.
