Khorramabad being an agricultural hub and most populated in Iran has the highest pollution levels when copared to other cities in Iran. In 2012, pollution contributed to the premature deaths of 4,500 people in Tehran and about 80,000 across Iran, according to the health ministry. Here the PM 2.5 level is 102 µg/m3.
