Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to education and his vision for a 'New India' have been pivotal in inspiring the creation of world-class institutions akin to the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), according to Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology.
Speaking at the Indian Institute of Management in Jagti, on the outskirts of Jammu city, Dr. Singh emphasized the transformative impact of PM Modi's policies on India's aspirational generation. "Startups are booming, and new opportunities are emerging. Technology has become a great leveller, providing opportunities to individuals from all regions", he remarked.
Dr. Singh highlighted the significant role of industry linkages in the success of startups. Citing the Aroma mission as an example, he noted how the government facilitated capacity-building for agri-startups in lavender and enhanced market access for Himalayan products like lavender-made perfumes.
The Union Minister urged the youth to harness the power of technology, which has democratized access and created a level-playing field. 'Earlier, technology was a privilege of a few', he pointed out.
Dr. Singh called upon students to prepare themselves for leadership roles in India by 2047, the centenary of its Independence. 'Youth will be the architects of a developed India', he said, emphasizing the government's efforts to equip the younger generation with new skills.
He also advocated for increased collaboration and synergy among educational institutions to maximize benefits for students. The minister's address underscored the ongoing efforts to position India as a global leader in education and innovation, driven by PM Modi's visionary leadership.
