PM Modi Unveils Rs 20,600 Crore Petrochemical Project in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a groundbreaking petrochemical complex operated by Petronet LNG at Dahej, Gujarat. The ceremony, part of the broader vision for a progressive India, included the inauguration of 50 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras in Ahmedabad, spanning over 200 locations.
Valued at over Rs 20,000 crore, the new petrochemical complex represents a significant expansion in India's petrochemical sector, focusing on boosting hydrogen production and augmenting polypropylene supply. PM Modi underscored the projects' importance in shaping a brighter future for India's youth and aligning with the nation's developmental trajectory.
The Dahej petrochemical complex, with an investment exceeding Rs 20,600 crore, incorporates facilities for ethane and propane handling. Its strategic proximity to an existing LNG regasification terminal is anticipated to result in substantial operational and capital expenditure savings.
In addition, the Prime Minister inaugurated Jan Aushadhi Kendras at railway stations nationwide, aiming to enhance access to affordable, quality generic medicines. This initiative not only prioritizes passenger welfare but also generates employment opportunities, ensuring both incoming and outgoing travelers benefit from cost-effective healthcare options.
