PM Modi Leaves to Russia for Bilateral Talks


BENGALURU: The saga of visiting foreign countries for official purposes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues as he will be leaving to Russia on 23rd December and major bilateral deals are expected to be signed between the two countries. The trip is scheduled for three days and deals pertaining to defense and nuclear energy are expected to be major highlight, as reported by HT.   

Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar told reporters."We expect to sign a number of agreements covering a very broad range of fields. Final touches are being given on some of them; Russia has been a very major military and strategic partner of India. There will be a lot of discussions on that. This would be definitely one of the most important engagements for us."

Recently, India cleared a deal worth 40, 000 crore and will buy Russian S-400 Triumf air defence missile systems as part of the deal.

He also said that PM Modi will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and the duo will put their best to enhance the current relationship of the countries.

The event will also prove in developing the economical ties of both the countries as CEOs of both the countries will meet on account of diplomatic meet.

As per the schedule President Putin will host dinner for PM Modi along with the Indian diplomats and is expected to discuss on tackling terrorism mutually. 

PM Modi will address 3000 Indian community in Moscow and the visit is expected influence on Russia’s interest to provide defense helicopters to Pakistan.
