Good Friday, celebrated on April 18 this year, is among the holiest days on the Christian calendar to mark Jesus Christ's crucifixion. It occurs on Holy Week, two days ahead of Easter Sunday and is followed by Maundy Thursday and then Holy Saturday.
Also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, or Black Friday, the day is of profound spiritual importance to Christians everywhere. It represents the agony and ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the salvation of humankind and is a poignant reminder of the timeless values of forgiveness, humility, and love.
