PM Modi Introduces a Credit Plan Aiding Impoverished Startups
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the PM-SURAJ national portal and allocate credit assistance to one hundred thousand entrepreneurs from disadvantaged communities, as per the Prime Minister's office.
This credit support will be extended nationwide through banks, NBFC-MFIs, and other entities to eligible individuals. Additionally, the Prime Minister will engage with beneficiaries of various government schemes, including those from Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and sanitation workers, and will also deliver a public address.
The PM-SURAJ national portal for credit support to disadvantaged sections reflects the Prime Minister's commitment to prioritizing the underprivileged. It represents a transformative initiative aimed at uplifting the most marginalized segments of society, according to an official statement.
During the event, Prime Minister Modi will also distribute Ayushman health cards and PPE kits to Safai Mitras, furthering the objectives of the National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE). This move is another stride toward safeguarding the health and safety of frontline workers who operate in challenging environments.
The program will see the participation of around three hundred thousand beneficiaries from various government schemes targeting disadvantaged groups, spanning over five hundred districts nationwide.
The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has devised the National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE) scheme. The scheme's rollout to all Urban Local Bodies has commenced, featuring identification of Septic Tank Workers, vocational training, PPE kit distribution, provision of safety devices to Sanitation Response Units, and extension of health insurance benefits under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) to identified SSWs and their families.
