The visit's first leg is to the UK on July 23-24, at the invitation of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. This marks Modi’s fourth visit to the UK, during which both sides will evaluate the progress of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). Key discussions are expected to cover trade, innovation, defence, climate action, healthcare, and education.

The Ministry of External Affairs noted that the talks will also address regional and global issues of shared interest. A meeting with King Charles III is also likely during the visit. During the second leg of the tour, Modi will travel to the Maldives on July 25 and 26 at the invitation of President Mohamed Muizzu. This would be his third visit to the Maldives and the first visit by a foreign head of government since President Muizzu took charge. Modi would be visiting the country during the Maldives' 60th Independence Day celebrations on July 26, during which he would be hosted as the Chief Guest.

While on the visit, the two leaders are scheduled to discuss the progress of the implementation of the India-Maldives Joint Vision for a Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership. The visit represents India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy and Vision MAHASAGAR, which aims at boosting maritime security as well as regional cooperation. The discussions will centre mainly on infrastructure development, defence cooperation, and enhancing regional economic connectivity.
