Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at 10 am today. His address to nation begins, day after country crossed 1 billion Covid-19 vaccination mark. Covid vaccine milestone reflects a 'New India', says PM Modi.

“On 21st October, India accomplished the target of 1 billion Covid-19 vaccinations. This achievement belongs to every individual in the country. I congratulate every citizen for this feat,” PM Modi during address to the nation.

Modi, in an opinion piece on Friday, defined India's Covid-19 vaccination as a journey from "anxiety to assurance" that has made the country emerge stronger. He credited its success to people's trust in the vaccines despite "various efforts to create mistrust and panic".

“Many were doubting India’s capabilities. Our vaccination programme was science-borne, science-driven and science-based. It’s based on scientific methods, entirely,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the nation today.

I urge all the citizens to make ‘made in india’ and ‘vocal for local’ as much of a movement as ‘swachch abhiyaan’. This diwali unlike the last one, we have a sense of belief and confidence: PM Modi.

Experts in India and abroad are very positive about India's economy. Today, not only record investment is coming to Indian companies but new employment opportunities are also being created for the youth, said PM Modi.

“We ensured that VIP culture does not overshadow our vaccination programme and everyone is treated equally,” said PM Modi on India achieving 1 billion vaccination mark.
