Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the vast potential of the 'India Opportunity' at the India-France Business Conference in Paris on Tuesday (local time). Highlighting India's pool of skilled workers and the government's positive initiatives to improve the ease of doing business, Goyal appealed to French businesses to leverage good investment and partnership opportunities in India.

Posting comments about the event on social media, Goyal said, "It was a privilege to speak at the India-France Business Conference, bringing together some Indian and French firms. I emphasized the 'India Opportunity', driven by a highly skilled workforce and business-friendly government, with robust opportunities for French businesses. I urged closer cooperation by leveraging our mutual strengths. This engagement will greatly enhance the India-France strategic partnership.

Goyal also attended the India-France CEO Forum Small Group Meeting with French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad, Laurent Saint-Martin. In this interactive session with business leaders from both countries, Goyal emphasized the growing confidence of French businesses in India's growth story and shared mutual ambitions across areas of AI, education, startups, and technology.

Subsequently, during a bilateral meeting with WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in Paris, Goyal reaffirmed India's belief in a just, equitable, and rules-based multilateral trading system and the need for reforming multilateral trade institutions as per the requirements of developing countries.
