PhonePe Offers Rs 144 Cashback at Mahakumbh Mela
PhonePe has announced an exciting campaign to celebrate the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The company will offer a flat cashback of Rs 144 on the first transaction to the visitors of the fair. The campaign, called 'MahaKumbh Ka MahaShagun', is to promote digital payments at the grand religious gathering, which is expected to attract over 40 crore visitors.
First-time visitors to the Mahakumbh Mela will get cash back on transactions as low as Re 1. This offer is till February 26, which will be the last day of the festival. In order to get the cashback, users must download the PhonePe app and link their bank accounts. In addition, they should set a UPI PIN. Furthermore, users should enable location services and grant location permissions to the app in order to receive the cashback.
For its promotion, PhonePe has come up with Mahakumbh-themed QR codes, banners, and posters at key touchpoints across the venue. Additionally, the company has also initiated a special message on its SmartSpeaker, where it sends wishes to attendees by saying, 'Maha Kumbh ki Shubhkamnayein, Maha Shagun ke Saath'.
Eliminating the pain of carrying cash for transactions for shopping, stall payments, or giving shaguns through seamless payments through PhonePe, this initiative is going to lead to a further increase in digital payments in India and financial inclusion of millions who have not yet utilized the benefits of this digital payment ecosystem.
PhonePe's action is towards increasing the comfort level of visitors at the Mahakumbh Mela. Simultaneously, it promotes a broader acceptance of digital payment tools at the grass-root levels across the country. The cashback reward will be credited as a scratch card within the PhonePe application, providing users with a great experience in making their transactions during the event.
