P&G India Names Kumar Venkatasubramanian CEO from May 1
P&G India, a leading FMCG giant, has announced the appointment of Kumar Venkatasubramanian as its new CEO, effective May 1, 2024. Kumar will succeed L V Vaidyanathan, who will be leaving the company after 28 years of service to pursue personal interests, according to a statement from P&G India.
Kumar brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the CEO of P&G's business in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that, he led the sales team in P&G India until 2020. Kumar's journey with P&G began in 2000 when he joined the sales team in India straight from IIM Calcutta.
Expressing confidence in Kumar's leadership abilities, P&G President for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, Stanislav Vecera, remarked that Kumar's vision will undoubtedly propel the India business to new heights while maintaining a balanced growth outlook.
In his statement, Kumar emphasized the company's commitment to focusing on a portfolio of daily use products where performance drives brand choice. He outlined plans to elevate all aspects of the company's strategy, including product, package, brand communication, retail execution, and value.
P&G India operates with four entities: Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care, Procter & Gamble Health, Gillette India, and Procter & Gamble Home Products (non-listed). With popular brands such as Ariel, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, and Pampers under its umbrella, P&G India continues to be a dominant player in the FMCG sector, poised for further growth under Kumar's leadership.
