Orient Electric Appoints Ravindra Singh Negi as Managing Director and CEO
Orient Electric, a subsidiary of the diversified $3 billion CK Birla Group, announced the appointment of Ravindra Singh Negi as its Managing Director and CEO, effective May 31, 2024, pending regulatory approvals. Negi will join the Orient Electric Board as a full-time Director and will be based in New Delhi.
CK Birla, Chairman of Orient Electric, highlighted Negi's extensive experience in the electrical consumer durables industry as pivotal for the company’s growth. “Negi’s extensive experience across industries and especially electrical consumer durables will be pivotal in guiding Orient Electric towards sustained growth”, Birla said. “Under his leadership, Orient Electric will accelerate its journey to becoming a future-ready consumer-centric organisation. He will continue to build organisation capability and execution excellence towards growing all key businesses”.
Negi succeeds Deepak Khetrapal as Managing Director. Prior to joining Orient Electric, Negi served as the Chief Operating Officer for the consumer products business at Bajaj Electricals. His distinguished career includes leadership roles such as Chairman of the Indian Fans Manufacturers Association (IFMA) and leading the Electric Consumer Durables business at Havells. Negi also spent nearly two decades with Bharti Airtel, where he held several commercial and leadership positions, culminating in his role as CEO of the Delhi and NCR circle.
Negi’s expertise in leading large-scale business transformations, turning around businesses, and delivering robust P&L growth will be instrumental as Orient Electric aims to enhance its market position. His appointment is expected to drive the company towards achieving its strategic objectives and expanding its footprint in the consumer durables sector.
