O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) in India and the United Nations University (UNU) based in Japan have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering academic exchange and collaboration in higher education and research.
This landmark agreement signifies a significant step towards promoting mutual cooperation through knowledge sharing, cultural exchanges, and personnel interactions between the two esteemed institutions.
The MoU underscores the shared commitment of JGU and UNU in areas such as sustainability, social and economic development, and environmental studies. Both institutions aim to leverage their combined expertise to address global challenges and advance knowledge in these crucial fields.

Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, Rector of the United Nations University, highlighted the potential of this partnership, stating, "This MoU represents a unique opportunity to unite two institutions dedicated to tackling some of the most pressing global issues of our time. Professor C. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University, expressed pride in being the first university in India to establish such a collaboration with UNU. "This agreement underscores our commitment to global higher education and our resolve to foster international partnerships that enhance academic excellence and address global challenges for the collective benefit", Kumar emphasized.
He added, "The aligned vision and complementary strengths of JGU and UNU hold immense potential to drive innovative research and meaningful contributions towards global sustainability and development. This collaboration will also strengthen the efforts of emerging global powers to operate in a fair and equitable global environment, ushering in essential changes towards a more sustainable world".
