Nagaland, Toyota Kirloskar Sign Strategic MoU to Advance Health & Education

Nagaland has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) to strengthen the state’s healthcare and education sectors. The agreement was finalized by the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and aims to create long-term social impact, especially in rural areas.

Under the health component, the collaboration will focus on improving essential infrastructure, expanding access to medical services, and supporting both rural and urban health systems. The education initiatives will emphasize better school facilities, digital learning tools, and skill development programs designed to prepare young people for emerging job opportunities.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, said the MoU reinforces the government’s priority to improve healthcare and education. He noted that rural communities face major gaps in infrastructure and training, and the partnership with Toyota can help address these challenges.

Rio also shared insights from his visit to Toyota’s manufacturing plant and its educational institution, highlighting the strong model of experiential learning, holistic development, and community support. He said these approaches show how quality education can help children prepare for the future.

The state government has pledged full support for transparent and timely implementation of the initiatives. IDAN Chairman Abu Mehta praised the quick execution of the MoU and Toyota’s commitment to best-practice frameworks.

Sudeep Dalvi from Toyota Kirloskar said the company’s mission of 'Child to Community Development' guides its social programs, stressing that empowering children ultimately strengthens entire communities.
