Mercedes-Benz Appoints Emrah Ozer as CFO for India
German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has announced the appointment of Emrah Ozer as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for India, effective January 1, 2025. This leadership change comes as part of an organizational restructuring in the company’s finance and controlling functions.
Ozer, currently serving as a Member of the Board of Management and Head of Finance & Controlling at Mercedes-Benz Otomotiv Turkey, will soon join the Board of Mercedes-Benz India as Executive Director. He takes over the CFO role from Evren Cakabey, who has assumed the position of Executive Director & CFO at Mercedes-Benz G GmbH, Austria, effective the same date.
Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, expressed confidence in Ozer's extensive international financial expertise and leadership experience. “We are confident that Emrah, with his proven track record in managing global finance and business strategies, will propel Mercedes-Benz’s growth in India”, Iyer said.
With over two decades of experience, Ozer has successfully handled diverse stakeholders, including banks, governments, and investors. He has played key roles at Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Benz AG, and Smart, overseeing financial operations across India and the NAFTA region. Ozer began his career in the Finance & Controlling department at Smart GmbH, Stuttgart, in 2002 and later became Head of Project Controlling for India & NAFTA in 2008.
This appointment underscores Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to leveraging global expertise to strengthen its operations in India.
