Meet Archana Sardana; The Scuba Diver Who Never Hesitates To Take a Plunge
BENGALURU: How many of us choose living a meaning full life? Most of us choose to settle down for a risk-free life. But a risk-free life doesn’t give that contentment which a passionate life offers. Here is a story reported by Indiatimes, about an adventure loving women who sold her house to follow her passion.
Archana Sardana is a 40 year old adventure loving woman, who has set a new record by unfolding the national flag at the depth of 30 meters inside the ocean, off Andaman. However it’s not the only record she holds; since she is also the first Indian woman jumper in Building Aerial Span Earth (BASE) where jumpers commonly jump from the bridges of over 3,600 12,000 feet high and also India's first woman scuba diving trainer.
Sardana’s love for adventure started when she participated in a local marathon. But her run has not ended yet, as she says, “My parents were always protective of me. Interestingly, I picked up adventure sports only after marriage. But if I hadn't taken that proactive initiative, nothing would have been possible. My husband sees these capabilities in me. Somehow, something pushes me to jump”
Sardana’s journey wasn’t an easy one as she had to balance her passion along with her family; eventually she reached at a point, where she sold her house for adequate money that was needed to follow her passion. She adds, "My biggest obstacle has been money. I even sold my house so I could follow my dreams. When I started, my children were in boarding school, and that is when I travelled extensively. I had to find a balance.”
