LS Polls 2014: Here are the Prominent Winners



Harsh Vardhan: Delhi BJP chief Harsh Vardhan defeated Law and Communications Minister Kapil Sibal, by huge margin in Chandni Chowk over AAP's Ashutosh.

In this high-profile constituency, BJP's Harsh Vardhan polled over 4.36 lakh votes while Congress' Kapil Sibal got around 1.75 lakh votes.
In the state cabinet, Vardhan has served in various capacities during BJP's reign (1993–98), including Health Minister, Law Minister and Education Minister. He was the Chief Minister candidate for the BJP in the 2013 Delhi assembly election.

Sonia Gandhi: In the 16th Lok Sabha, though Congress delivers the worst ever results, Congress president Sonia Gandhi won from Rae Bareli constituency, defeating Ajay Agrawal of the Bharatiya Janata Party by 352,713 votes. The only other Congress candidate leading in the state was its vice president Rahul Gandhi in Amethi.
Sonia Gandhi was first elected from Rae Bareli in 2004 and again in 2009. She was earlier the MP from Amethi.
