Life skills programme for IIT graduates



Ahmedabad: Time management has occupied a very important place in this competitive world. And poor time management can cause lot of stress. And to strike a balance in time and stress the ,Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn), has come up with the idea of honing Life Skills both among its students as well as its staff. The main aim of this programme is to train on how to prioritize time besides developing other skills. The first workshop of the series was held and got an overwhelming response from the students. The authorities said each month one workshop would be conducted. Gradually this workshop would also step into the territory of money management and stress management. Indian Institute of Technology initiated one more programme called "viva voce". It was an interactive session where students talk about their problems and their aspirations in the presence of two faculty member and a counselor. This particular session revealed that online gaming and social networking sites has taken much of the time of these management students. The institution hopes theses workshops would help the students to over come their individual problems and shed their inhibitions, making them better and fuller to be part of the larger competitive world waiting outside.
