Korea Tourism Organization to Partner with IRCTC South Zone for Cultural Tourism
The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) India office and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) South Zone signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will further enhance cultural tourism and travel ties between India and South Korea.
That was marked by the signing of Myong Kil Yun, regional director for India and SAARC nations at KTO and P. Rajalingam Basu, group general manager of IRCTC South Zone. Such cooperation was emphasized by Myong Kil Yun as an important step in fostering cross-cultural tourism between the two countries. Working together with IRCTC, India's leader in the tourism industry, will definitely push our joint agenda forward and encourage the Indians to come to Korea as part of their travels. Let's hope to establish new opportunities for growth and encourage more Indian travelers to experience the beauty of Korea.
Such remarks were echoed by Rajalingam Basu, who highlighted the urgency of a probe into historical ties. He believes this collaboration will attract tourists from South India to visit Korea's cultural and natural wonders while compelling Korean tourists to immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of South India, in particular, in its famed temples.
This strategic partnership shall further promote South Korea as a preferred tourist destination, with a focus on the growing South Indian market, particularly Tamil Nadu. IRCTC shall, under this MoU, launch thorough tour packages to Korea catering to travel from South India, targeting South Indians eager to explore the different forms of cultural attractions that Korea offers. The partnership further consists of joint participation in tourism events, thus further increasing Korea's appeal in emerging new travel markets.
